A well know artist called Rivane Neuenschwander is going to make a brand new piece of art to be exhibited at The Whitechapel Art Gallery. She wanted ideas from some children to inspire her so Ruby Class went along to help.
The artists at the gallery asked the children if they would share some of their fears with them. The children made lists for Rivane and then they drew designs for capes to protect them from their fears. After designing their capes, the children had a chance to make their very own cape.
The children used lots of different techniques to decorate and join materials. They stapled and stuck and taped; some children sewed their capes together.
The finished capes were splendid creations and protected children from scary movies, nightmares, baddies, cobras and many other things. Two children even made a double protective cape!
